The Challenge
The solar energy market is a highly competitive arena and getting bigger with the popularity of self sufficiency. To compete requires, amoungst a broad range of marketing assets, an online energy website that speaks concisely to general public about this complex issue.
Our Approach
By implementing a series of different colour sections we were able to visually breakdown the content into chunks, increasing quick glance readability. The more important the information, the larger or more prominent the colour. The colour scheme and fonts were chosen to compliment the brand style and to enhance visual appeal through the use of clear contrasting colours and modern san-serif fonts. We also incorporated a mobile menu for both desktop and mobile versions, keeping the navigation in one location out of the way until needed.
We approach website design by considering this mantra – don’t make me think. We know that even though users spend less time on websites reading content, they are familiar with the way they work through constant use. So while we aspire to make the design fresh, basic functionalities should still feel familiar.
Keep it simple is always a good rule of thumb and can make complex information understandable to most users.
