The Challenge
The Reef and Ocean Ecology Laboratory largely focuses on whole organism marine ecology with the emphasis on ecological questions that relate to reef fishes, the habitats they live in and the degree to which they are protected.
Our Approach
This website design was developed to reflect the colours of the underwater environment and offer and pleasing interface to a scientific, research website. To give the site a unique feel we incorporated a navigation style different to most,. Requiring just a rollover of the mobile-style icon to reveal the menu structure, the navigation is then onscreen until either a menu item is selected or the ‘X’ is rolled over which then triggers the menu structure to disappear again leaving a clean viewing area.
We also incorporated additional templates for team profiles and news blog to give the site a dynamic feel.
We were particularly proud of the uniqueness of this website, from navigation to the curvaceous colour interface.
